I'm back.

The roof of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hangzhou is covered with marbles.

Hundreds of thousands of marbles.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Welcome back! Yes, I very much like knowing that. Very much indeed. But are they loose? or fixed down in some way? is there a parapet to stop them rolling off in high winds? These are the questions I ask myself.

Of course there's also "why?" but I'm passing that one over.

Hey rr! Yes, they are loose and there is a raised wooden walkway and a parapet around the edge to keep them on the roof. I also assume there must be drains underneath for rainwater. I'm glad you passed over the other question because I have no idea what the answer is. I find myself very often without the answer to "why?" in China.

Well, so the lost ones end up somewhere. Good to know.
